GERALD F. WOODS, 80, returned to his heavenly Father on July 10, 2013 surrounded by his family.
He was a retired employee of Brown Forman Corp., a member of the 1951 Male High School State Championship Football Team, VFW Dixie Post 220, a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Patricia (Newman) Woods; his children, Edie Kuerzi (Marty), Eddie Woods (Sherry), Michael Woods (Connie) and Linda Baker (Ted); nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one on the way, and his sister, Maxine Haywood.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 6901 Dixie Highway with burial in Resthaven Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
