Obituary

Worcester - Jane A. (Gullberg) Howard, 86, passed away July 10, 2013, at the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. She was the widow of William C. Howard, Jr., to whom she was married for 54 years. She leaves three daughters and a son, Deborah J. Howard and her husband Roger Debruyn of Brimfield, Pamela J. Howard of Cape Cod, Guy W. Howard and his wife Carol of Newtown, CT, and Nina J. Howard of Northbridge; six grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Four sisters and her twin brother preceded her in death.

Jane was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Marie U. (Fors) and George A. Gullberg. She was a graduate of North High School and the Salter Secretarial School. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for most of her life, where she sang in the choir. She was an accomplished embroiderer, painter, and vocalist. Jane was an active participant in civic and cultural organizations throughout her life including the Embroiderer's Guild and the Worcester Art Museum.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Jane's life will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main Street, Worcester on Saturday, August 10, at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Hope Cemetery will be at the family's convenience. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 NW 9th Ave., Miami, FL 33136-1494 or to the Worcester Art Museum, 55 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.
