Dartmouth – Carlos M. Rocha, age 54, passed away on Wednesday July 10, 2013 at his home with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved fiancé of Sara Shedd. Carlos was born in Mosteiros Porta Lagua, Sao Miguel, Açores, the son of Maria Helena (Tomazia) and John Pavao. He moved to this country when he was 13 years old and worked as a Chef at various restaurants including Davy’s Locker and End Zone in New Bedford. He was part owner of the End Zone and enjoyed cruises, spending time with his fiancée, Sara, and his family as well as collecting old cars.
His survivors include his son, Andrew Rocha of Fairhaven; his fiancé, Sara and her daughter Sariah of Dartmouth; 2 sisters: Maria Eduarda Bolarinho and her husband, Luis, of New Bedford and Maria Matilda daCosta and her husband, Rogerio, of France; a niece, Paula Bolarinho, of Wareham; 4 nephews: Louis Bolarinho of Wareham, Paulo, Emmanuel and Jean-Pierre Costa, all of France; his best friend, Jose Leite; and an aunt Maria C. Silva of New Bedford.
Mr. Rocha’s visiting hours will be Monday morning from 9:30 – 11:30 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, with a Religious Service to begin at 11:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
