Obituary

Charlton - Evelyn R. (Brownell) Frawley, 94, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, July 6, 2013. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Amy Patton (Cole) and Gerald Ellsworth Brownell. She was a graduate of North High School and a member of Adams Square Baptist Church of Worcester; she resided most of her life in Massachusetts.

Evelyn proudly served our country during WWII, in the Waves as a clerk typist at the Office of Naval Intelligence in Washington D.C.

She taught dance at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in New York State. For over 20 years, Evelyn worked as a typist at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette; retiring at the age of 72. Evelyn loved music, dance, reading, playing cards, and was the most amazing word-puzzle enthusiast. But her most enjoyment came from spending time with family, especially the young grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved reading to.

Evelyn was a Breast Cancer survivor since 1991.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol J. (Frawley) Gannon of Dudley and Sharon L. Frawley and her fiance Robert Raczynski, with whom she lived; three grandchildren, Deanna Baril of Spencer, Denise Stupp of Albany, NY, and Jerry Popp of Dudley; eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Richard Frawley in 2000, and a granddaughter, Dawn M. Popp in December 2012; and seven siblings.
