Madeline (Melchionda) Azzalina, a long-time Medford resident died peacefully at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester. She was 94.
Born and raised in Boston’s North End she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Donata (Colantonio) Melchionda. The beloved wife of the late Louis Azzalina, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage, Madeline worked as a principal clerk at the Registry of Motor Vehicles. She was a devoted wife mother and grandmother who will be missed by those who knew her.
She leaves her children: Camille White and her late husband Douglas of Charlemont, Louis J. Azzalina of Stoneham, Richard A. Azzalina and his wife Barbara of Medford. She was a loving sister to Ann Resmini and her husband John and the late Joseph Melchionda and his wife Angie. The loving grandmother of: Douglas White and his wife Julia, David White and his wife Amy, Russell Azzalina, Lauren Conneely and her husband John, Scott Azzalina and his wife Aom, Robert Azzalina and his wife Desiree, Marisa Azzalina and Michael Azzalina, Madeline also leaves her loving great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Benjamin, Daniel and Caroline White.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday July 10th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home Tuesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Madeline's name to a charity of One's choice.
