Helen (Cebula) Liehr, 97, a resident of the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Nursing Home.
Born in Lawrence, MA, Helen was educated in the Lawrence Schools. She had worked in the Wood Mill and also worked for local laundries. Helen loved cooking and baking and had learned those crafts by participating in local organizations. She also took great pride in her homemaking.
The widow of Oswald H. Liehr, family members include:
her daughter: Maureen Liehr Donato and her husband Paul A. Donato of North Reading, MA, grandchildren: Stephen Donato of Houston, TX, Marianne Giampa and her husband Todd of Haverhill, MA, David P. Donato and his wife Donna of Wakefield, MA, 6 great granddaughters: Gabrielle, Victoria, Isabelle, and Sophia Giampa, as well as Cara and Megan Donato. She is also survived by her cousin: Sr. Patricia McKearney of Caldwell, NJ, a sister-in-law: Nancy Cebula of Methuen, MA, and several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her six brothers and one sister. The family would like to thank the staff of 4A at the Mary Immaculate for the care and kindness that they showed to Helen.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in Corpus Christi Parish, 35 Essex St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, also in Lawrence, MA.
