Obituary

Richard J. “Dick” Essler, 49, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2013 in Lahey Clinic Burlington following a brief illness.
Born in Beverly on February 22, 1964, he was the son of Thomas and Jean (Hook) Essler of South Carolina. He was raised and educated in Beverly and graduated from the Essex Agricultural School in Danvers in 1982. He served our country with the United States Coast Guard. Dick had been employed with the Ira Group in Danvers for over five years. Dick enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved fishing and camping with his family.
Besides his parents he is survived by his former wife Cynthia (Allen) Essler, his children, Steven, John and Kristen Essler, all of Lynn, his brother David and his wife Ruth Essler of SC and his sister Deborah Essler of Bradford, his nieces, Jennifer and Hillary Essler and his friend JoAnn Spiller of CA.
Dick’s family will received friends and family on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 4-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. All other services are private. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Dick’s name to the American Cancer Society, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA, 01701.
