John B Goodwin
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, July 5, 2013 at Doctor’s Hospital, John B Goodwin, 85, husband of the late Sadie Goodwin.
Mr. Goodwin worked as an optician for Dr. Alex Keller Opticians. He was the past president of the National Hills Lions Club and the Athens Lions Club. He was a member of the Georgia Lions Hall of Fame and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He served as a medic in the United States Navy for 21 years.
Family members include daughters: Myra Roque of Diamond Bar, CA, Maria Teresa Goodwin of Augusta, GA; son: Paul J. Goodwin of Tacoma, WA; granddaughter: Emma Goodwin of Tacoma, WA; sister: Eddie G. Faircloth of Augusta, GA; favorite great niece: Christine Reece of Augusta, GA and several other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by sisters: Brunell Johnson, Mary Johnson; brothers: Glen Goodwin, Roy Goodwin.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at Brothersville Cemetery on Mims Road in Hephzibah, GA with Rev. Gale Seibert officiating.
