Mr. Sanders Watkins, Sr.
Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Friday, July 5, 2013, Sanders Watkins, Sr., 90, husband of the late Bernice S. Watkins.
Mr. Watkins was a native of Augusta, GA. He was a member of National Hills Baptist Church and the Adult Men’s Sunday School. Mr. Watkins served in the United States Army, 551 MPEG during World War II. He was a former member of the National Hills Lions Club.
Family members include daughters: Sandra Martin (Jimmy) of Hephzibah, GA, Darlene Barton (Bobby) of Martinez, GA; son: Jimmy Watkins (Colleen) of Martinez, GA; grandchildren: Kim Marinich, Michael Barton, Shelby Watkins; three great-grandchildren; and sister: Mary Phillips (Jack) of North Augusta, SC. He is preceded in death by grandson: Heath Martin; brothers: Willie Watkins, George Watkins and Robert Watkins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 8, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Kevin Steele officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
