Sunderland - Harold C. Richards Sr., 83, passed away at his home on Monday, July 1, 2013 in Sunderland, MA after a brief illness with family by his side. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Powell) Richards. Born in Norwood, he was the son of the late Harold G. and Eleanor (Barney) Richards and the step-son of the late Mary J. Richards. Mr. Richards was a member of the Army National Guard. Prior to retiring, he worked for Robert Allen Fabrics in Mansfield. He also worked for Data Medics and Mitch's Repair, Inc. He was a member of the No. Attleboro Elks Club and his hobbies included playing solitare, cribbage, bingo and bowling. Mr. Richards loved to visit the ocean and the White Mountains. He is survived by his five children Ms. Laurie Deskavich of Sunderland, Mrs. Robert (Susan) Dings of No. Attleboro, Mr. Harold C. Richards Jr. of Middleboro, Ms. Kathleen Doolin of Providence, RI and Mrs. Louis (Deborah) Rodriguez of New Bedford. He is also survived by two sisters, Myrtle Wass of NV and Sandra Macomber of No. Attleboro; two brothers, Donald Richards of Marlboro and Allan Richards of SC; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Richards and his sister Marjorie Hodges. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St., Taunton, MA 02780. Mr. Richards funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Taunton Funeral Home followed by burial at Cedar Knoll Cemetery.
