Obituary

James F. “Jim” Forlizzi, 45, of Whitman, passed away on Wednesday July 3rd surrounded by his family and friends, in the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Boston, son of Christine (Hughes) Ruley and the late Joseph F. Forlizzi.

Jim has been a longtime resident of Whitman, a graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, class of 1986.

He was very involved in the WBSA in Whitman. Jim coached softball for many years, enjoying every game.

Jim was a dedicated and loving father to his three children. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his mother Christine Ruley of Whitman, his loving children, Alyssa, Ashlee and Cody Forlizzi all of Whitman, his brother Joseph Forlizzi of Whitman, his sister-in law Pamela Snow and her husband Peter of East Bridgewater, his loving companion Bethann Peterson Sweeney of Halifax, also his nieces and nephews; Melanie, Joseph, Payton, Patrick and Peri.

His funeral services will be held on Monday July 8th at 8:15AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St.(Rte 58 @ the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visitation will be held on Sunday July 7th from 4:00-8:00PM.
