Alma “Alice” (England) Atwell, 92, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Essex Nursing & Rehab Center. Born in Hart Co. she was a retired arranger for the old Parkway Florist and was one of the first members of Hillview Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Atwell. She is survived by her three sons, Jerry Atwell, Darrell Atwell (Beverly) and Robert Atwell (Pamela); Her sister, Zorada South, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Her funeral will be 12 pm Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. with burial at Cosby Cemetery near Horse Cave. Visitation will be 2 pm to 8pm on Friday. In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
