Maryanna Kablis, age 101, passed away on July 1, 2013 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home after a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester on March 11, 1912, the daughter of Joseph and Rozalia (Wilk) Kablis. She was a graduate of Manchester Central High School, class of 1930. She earned a certificate in hairdressing at Wilfred Academy in Boston. She was a World War II veteran, having served in Italy with the Women’s Army Corps. Following active duty, Maryanna moved to San Diego, CA to be close to her twin sister Peggy Cardoz. Maryanna was employed by the Navy Exchange System, retiring after 24 years of service. In 1999, many years after Peggy had passed away, Maryanna returned to Manchester, where she still had family.
She was predeceased by her brother John and twin sister Peggy Cardoz. She leaves a sister Victoria Theodore and a nephew James Tebbetts, both of Manchester.
Graveside prayers were held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Veterans Terrace, El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego, CA.
