Lykins, Detective James Everett 79 formerly of Jeffersontown and now in Taylorsville passed away Tuesday July 2, 2013 at the Norton Pavillion Hosparus Unit.
Born in Letcher County, he was a retired Officer and Detective for the Louisville Police Department for over 30 years, a member of the Fraternal Order of the Police and
A Navy Veteran during the Korean War. Preceded in death by his parents Richard and Gleida Lykins, and a brother Glen Lykins. He is survived by his five children James Anthony “Tony” Lykins, Teresa Webb (Lee), Tim Lykins, Missy Lykins and
Jennifer Manning (Paul). Two Sisters Versa Lykins and Eloise Porter. Thirteen Grandchildren, Seventeen Great-Grandchildren, and two Great-Great Grandchildren.
His Funeral Service will be 10 am Friday at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd.
Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central (Radcliff, KY). Visitation will be 2 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
