Obituary

Yvette M. Roy, 93, of Berlin, NH passed away on Sunday June 30, 2013 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. She was born in Lambton, PQ, Canada on January 14, 1920 the daughter of Hilaire and Aldina (Morin) Roy and moved to the United States in 1953. She was one of 16 children and she and one sister, Laurentia Labrecque, were the only two that moved to the United States. She was employed as a stitcher for Converse Rubber for 10 years and was a member of Good Shepherd Parish and The Ladies of St. Anne. Yvette enjoyed her many trips abroad and while at home she was often seen cross country skiing, dancing, bowling, golfing and was well-known in the community in her role as Mrs. Claus during the holiday season. She loved her family and friends and was always there to help in time of need. Her infectious smile will be remembered by all.

Family includes her daughters Sylvia Poulin, married to Gerard Poulin of Berlin, Marian Roy of Cottonwood, AZ ; sons Michel Roy, married to Francoise Roy of St. Romain, PQ, Jules Roy of Berlin and Raymond Roy of Berlin: grandchildren Jay Poulin married to Kelli Poulin of Berlin, Chad Poulin of Berlin, Mathieu Roy of Lac Magantic, PQ and Maxime Roy of Pittsburg, PA; great-grandchildren Carter Poulin, Bronsen Poulin, Haden Poulin and Evan Poulin. She is survived by three sisters Georgette Lemay, Paloma Roy, and Marie-Laure Benoit all of PQ, Canada; sisters-in-law Gabrielle Hallee, Pierrette Lemieux, Colette Duchesneau, Julienne Hallee, all of PQ, Canada and one brother, Luc Roy, of Bristol. Ct. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Henri Paul in January 1980 and her son Roger Roy in August 1975; sisters Laurentia Labrecque of Berlin, NH, Gisele Royer, Jeannine Roy, Sr. Alexandrine, Sr. Simonne, and Sr. Lucienne; brothers, Alexandre Roy, Roland Roy, Lorenzo Roy, Real Roy, Lucien Roy and Bernadin Roy; sisters-in-law Yvette Beaulee, and Sr. Simonne; brothers-in-law Louis Roy, Conrad Roy and Claude Roy, all of PQ Canada.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 9th at 1 pm at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Tuesday, July 9th from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to mass. Donations in her memory may be made to a church of ones’ choice or to the Activity Fund at Coos County Nursing Home.
