Patricia (O’Brien) Gonyea, 83 of Swampscott and formerly of Beverly, died June 22, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Gonyea.
Born in Boston and raised in Revere, she was the daughter of the late James and Marion (Tuohy) O’Brien. Following her completion of secretarial school, she began working in the executive offices of New England Telephone Co. She retired as an executive secretary in February of 1978 with 30 years and 4 months with the company.
Patsy married her devoted friend Bob in 1964 and the couple lived in Beverly throughout their married life together. Shortly after Bob’s passing in 1993 she moved to Swampscott.
Pat leaves several nieces and nephews and her dear friends, Jeanne Burke of Quincy, Janice Kersker of Beverly and Karen Gamble of Peabody as well as her dear feline companion, Mr. Moto.
A private graveside service is being planned at a later date. There will be no visiting hours. Arrangements are by the Levesque Funeral Home of Salem.
