Joseph Wayne Rowsey, Sr., 72, of Tifton died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Joseph L. Crumley will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Herman McDaniel, William “Bill” McDaniel, Bobby Edd McDaniel and Gene McDaniel will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Rowsey was born on February 6, 1941 in Freeman, West Virginia and was the son of Joseph Rowsey and Mildred Turner Rowsey, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one son, Joseph Wayne Rowsey, Jr. and a special friend, Margaret Pension. He was retired from Bob’s Flowers.
Mr. Rowsey is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jody Wayne and Dawn Rowsey of Tifton; one daughter, Anne Marie Busch of Burlington, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Jacob, Dalton, Braeden, Levi, Shawn and Destany; and one great-granddaughter, Barbara Ann.
