Obituary

Philip Francis Hammar, 76, of Bedford, NH passed away peacefully June 29, 2013 surrounded by his loving family after a period of declining health.

He was born in Lowell, MA on May 13, 1937, the son of Alrick and Flossie V. (Greenwood) Hammar. He graduated from Dracut High School in 1956.
Prior to retirement, he had been Vice President of sales for Printed Circuits Corp. as well as Samina Corp.

Philip enjoyed automobiles, antique trucks, and was a lifetime member of the Antique Truck Club of America. He also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Casino and North Conway, New Hampshire but above all else, cherished time spent with his family.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Kathleen P. (Keefe) Hammar of Bedford; his devoted daughter, Wendy A. Hammar-Reed and husband Allen of Derry, NH, Kevin J. Hammar of Nashua, Philip R. Hammar of California, Gretchen M. Hammar-Besse of Haverhill, MA and Larry Crowley of Derry, NH. He is also survived by his loving grandson Philip (PJ) Dawson of Derry, New Hampshire, and his five other grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; one brother Alrick P. Hammar of Salem, NH. He was predeceased by two sisters Pauline M. Santos and Suzanne A. Babin.

The funeral service took place on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in the chapel at Lambert Funeral Home, 1799 Elm St, Manchester. The burial followed at the Bedford Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association.
