Barbara A. Vanderhoof, 80 of 54 Hemlock St. died Sunday, Aug. 22 in Clark Manor Nursing Home after an illness. She leaves her former husband and friend John W. Vanderhoof of Leicester, two sons Michael Vanderhoof of Southwick and Robert Vanderhoof husband of Barbara of Newport, Rhode Island, a daughter Jane M. Hanlon wife of Paul with whom she lived, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Vanderhoof was born in Brookline, MA daughter of John and Stella (Buckley) Hazel. She graduated from Newport High School and Newport secretarial school in 1942. She was a personnel manager for F.W. Woolworth's for many years and retired from Marcus Co. She was a member of St. Joseph's church in Leicester and she enjoyed gardening, knitting and reading. Mrs. Vanderhoof loved the ocean and dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. At the request of the family funeral services and burial will be private. Calling hours will be Wednesday, Aug. 25 in MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester.
