Ann (DaLuz) Youngblood, 85, of New Bedford died June 28, 2013 unexpectedly at Massachusetts General Hospital.
She was the wife of the late William H. Youngblood, III.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joaquim and Antonia (Rocha) DaLuz, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Youngblood was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
She was formerly employed by Aerovox, as a cook at Hallmark Nursing Home and later helped her husband with country furniture.
Mrs. Youngblood was a member of the Cape Verdean-American Veterans Association Ladies Auxilliary and the Cape Verdean Ultramarine Band Club. She was a volunteer for the Whaling City Festival.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Gwendolyn A. Amado of Hayward, CA, Jocelyn L. Youngblood-Andrade and Kimberly Youngblood, both of New Bedford; a sister, Francesca Rodrigues of Norwich, CT; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Minnie Glover and John DaLuz.
Her Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd at 2 PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday, July 1st from 5-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
