Obituary

Antonio Volpe, age 70, of South Easton died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Charlene V. (Rogala) Volpe. Tony was born and raised in Introdacqua, Italy, son of Concetta (Del Grande) Volpe and the late Feliciano Volpe. He was educated in Italy and studied Copper Art at the Abruzzi Art Institute. At the age of 17 he immigrated to the United States and had been employed as a Hoist Engineer by Dimascio Construction, Sisto Volpe Construction and retired from Douglas King Construction Company. Tony was a devoted family man, who was known for his integrity, was well respected, humble and a humanitarian. For 25 years he was involved with the Boy Scouts of American as a Webelos Leader; was a mentor for Eagle Scouts and recently received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Easton Lions Club. Always active in the community, he had also adopted a Conservation Trail in Easton and was a Guest Speaker on Andre Presents on Easton Access Television. He also enjoyed gardening and was an avid sports fan.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by a son Dante Volpe of Brockton, four brothers Oreste Volpe of South Yarmouth, Gabriel Volpe of Bridgewater, Louis Volpe of Walpole and John Volpe of Norwell and many nieces and nephews and his cat Shamanna. He was the brother of the late Loretta Volpe.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday 4-6pm. The Funeral Procession will gather at the Funeral Home Monday at 10am for a Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church, South Easton at 11am. A private family burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations in Tony’s name be made to the Boy Scouts of America, PO Box 152079, Irving, TX 75015-2079.
