Barbara (Materas) Roman, 79, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Lutheran Home in Worcester. She leaves 2 sons; Ralph Bass, III of Shrewsbury and Mark Desourdy of Webster, a daughter-in-law; Sheila L. Bass of Southbridge , 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Barbara was predeceased by a daughter, Robin C. Bass who died in 2011, and 2 sons; Ralph ‘Bugs’ Bass in 2008 and John Fournier in 2012.
She was born in Charlton a daughter of John and Irene (Bergin) Materas and lived here most of her life.
Barbara was a member of the Southbridge Eagles Club and enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino and her cats.
There will be a calling hour for Barbara on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 6 PM to 7 PM at the Robert J. Miller-Charlton Funeral Home, 175 Old Worcester Rd.
Other Funeral arrangements will be private and at the convenience of the family.
