ARLENE H. (QUEARY) TUOHEY, a Cohasset resident, formerly of Hull, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the age of 75. She was born in Copenhagen Village, NY, and was raised in Carthage, NY.
A past president for several years of Harborview Senior Housing in Cohasset, Mrs. Tuohey attained her Associates degree from Quincy Junior College. She enjoyed traveling the world and spent years working as a corporate travel agent for American Express at Government Center in Boston. Mrs. Tuohey’s lifelong interests also included reading, cooking, and arts and crafts, which she frequently had on display at local fairs. An avid photographer, Mrs. Tuohey earned several awards from the South Shore Camera Club for her work. Like her varied talents, Mrs Tuohey’s devotion to her family and friends knew no bounds.
She was loving mother of Kathryn M. Brown and her husband Don of Hull, Kimberly A. Boyle and her husband Michael of Hingham, Stephen M. Tuohey and his wife Christine of Braintree, and Jennifer H. Dalpe and her husband Eric of Barkhamsted, Connecticut. Sister of Darwin Queary and his wife Sue of Brewster, and Donald Queary and his wife Belva of Croghan, New York. She was loving grandmother to Jessica, Chris, Andrew, Alex, Caitlin, Nicholas, Jayden, Alicia, Nolan, Francis, and Brendan, and adoring great grandmother to Elijah and Ava.
Relatives and friends are welcome for visiting hours at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Sunday from 4-6 PM. The Funeral Services and interment are to be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Tuohey’s memory may be given to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
