Obituary

Maurice Lavertue, Jr., 72, of Berlin, NH went to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 26, 2013 at the White River Jct. VA Medical Center in VT. He was born in the family home at the corner of Rte 110 and the Fish Hatchery Road in West Milan, NH on June 26, 1941 and was the son of the late Maurice and Nancy D. (Forbush) Lavertue, Sr. He lived in the Milan-Berlin area most of his life. Maurice was a US Army Veteran and had been self-employed as an electrician for many years under the name of Kilkenney Electric. He also served as the Building Inspector for the City of Berlin. He was a founding member and very active in the Berlin-Coos Historical Society and was instrumental in establishing and finding a location for the historical society which is now the Moffett House and the Brown Company Barn. From the society’s inception, he served as Vice President and took charge of bringing the buildings to code with his knowledge of electricity, plumbing and carpentry. He was a very devoted family man and father. He was kind and generous and loved by many.

Members of the family include his son Maurice Paul Lavertue and wife Shannon of Woodbury, CT; son Marvin Lavertue of Walpole, NH; daughter Michele Pribbernow and husband Mark of Jefferson, NH; son Jimmy Price and wife Olivia of Roanoke, VA; 13 grandchildren; brothers David Littlehale of Gilmanton, NH, Billy Cameron of Merrimack, NH, Gene Lavertue of Stuart, FL, Armand Lavertue of Newport, NH, Michael Lavertue of Milan, NH and Danny Lavertue of Shelburne, NH; sister Vivi Knowles of FL; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother James Cameron and his former wife Kathleen (Trump) Price.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday June 28, 2013 at 10 AM at the West Milan United Methodist Church in West Milan, NH. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in West Milan, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Thursday evening from 5 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the West Milan Church Fund in his memory.
