Joan B. (Gooley) Haigh, age 70, of Mansfield, formerly of Hyde Park passed away in the presence of her loving family on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton, She was the beloved wife of the late Paul E. Haigh who died on February 11, 1995.
Born in Malden, MA on June 6, 1943, she was a loving daughter of the late Edward A. and Kate (Munroe) Gooley. She grew up in the Hyde Park section of Boston and was educated in Boston public schools.
A resident of Mansfield for over 20 years, Joan was a familiar face at the Canoe River Campground in East Mansfield where she worked as a clerk as well as in many other capacities.
Joan enjoyed trips to New England casinos and vacationing. Her favorite times spent were those with her loving family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted son Eric D. Haigh and his wife Eleanor of Plainville. She was the dear sister of William Gooley of Norwood and is also survived by her cherished grandson Jason D. Haigh of Plainville.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, June 29th from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of visitation on Saturday at 4:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
