Betty Sue Savage House, age 76, died Monday, June 24, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born June 16, 1937 in Lafayette County, MS to the late Paul Eugene and Addie Irene Smith Savage. Betty worked for years on the assembly line at Holley Carburetor in Water Valley, MS. She was a faithful member of Water Valley Church of Christ and served as a former Sunday School teacher at Ford’s Well Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Seven Oaks with Bro. David Floyd officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley with Michael Richardson, Brandon Richardson, David Martin, Josh Burrows, Justin Mitchell, Matt Donaldson and Caleb House serving as pallbearers.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Melissa House Debo (Robert) of Senatobia, MS; her sons, Eddie House (Shirley) of Batesville, MS and Walter Richardson (Kay) of Water Valley, MS; two sisters, Lottie Horn (William) of Taylor, MS and Jannie S. Miller of Bruce, MS; three brothers, Jerry Savage (Sharon) of Lafayette County, MS, Harold Savage (Linda) of Chicago, IL and Herbie (Ruth) Savage of Lafayette County, MS; seven grandchildren, Michael Richardson (Leigh Ann), David Martin (Kayla), Jennifer Burrows (Josh), Brandon Richardson (Jessica), Justin Mitchell (Eden), Caleb House (Natalie), and Brittney Donaldson (Matt); and eight great grandchildren, Chloe Burrows, Tyler Richardson, Emma Mitchell, Lola Mitchell, Parker Martin, Cooper Burrows, Anna Kate Richardson and Gunner Donaldson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Dewitt D. House; two sisters, Deborah Sue Savage and Ann Russell; and four brothers, Paul Savage, Jr., Buddy Savage, Wayne Savage, and Chester Savage.
