Lucy M. Ferreira, age 64 of Westport, passed away June 24, 2013 at the Lahey Clinic, Burlington. Born in Fenais da Luz, São Miguel, Açores, she was the beloved wife of Manuel Ferreira and the daughter of the late Manuel P. and Maria (Clemente) Furtado. Prior to retiring, Lucy worked as a Supervisor in the Curtain Mfg. Industry. She was a parishioner of St. George’s Church, Westport, a member of the Academica Club and an avid bingo player.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 2 sons: Manual A. Ferreira Jr. (wife Jodi) of Westport and Samuel Ferreira (girlfriend Lisa Ferreira) of Westport; 2 granddaughters: Kaia Rose Ferreira & Livia Grace Ferreira; siblings: John Furtado of Westport, Anibal Furtado, Bella Oliveira, & Rose Fagundes all of Fall River, Manny Furtado of Acushnet, & Anna Maria Raposa of Richmond, RI; several nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River FRIDAY at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M. Graveside Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
