DUDLEY- Nancy G. (Duclos) Grochowski, 57, of Dudley, died Monday, June 24, 2013 at home with her family at her side after an 8 month courageous battle with lung cancer.
She leaves her husband of 34 years, James F. Grochowski; 2 daughters, Gina M. Shepherd and her husband Mark of Webster and Anna L. Grochowski of Dudley; a grandson, Evan M. Colon; 2 brothers, Donald Duclos and his wife Marlene of Tampa, FL and Gary Duclos and his wife Nancy of Newburyport; a sister, Norma Jean Curtis and her husband Stephen of Dudley; 12 nieces and nephews, 8 great-nieces and great-nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Adrienne Trudeau in 2003.
She was born and raised in Webster, daughter of Roland H. “Duke” and Rita E. (Germain) Duclos. She lived in Thompson from 1983 to 1996 when she moved to Dudley. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1974 and attended Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in Charlton.
Nancy was a hair dresser at the Beauty Mark in Webster for 37 years. She owned and operated the salon since 2006.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Webster. She sang in the choir for 40 years and was lead cantor for several years.
The funeral will be held Friday, June 28, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street, Webster. Burial will be private. Callings hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 27, in the funeral home.
