Joseph P. Neveu, 79, of North Smithfield, died Sunday in the Philip Hulitar Center. He was the husband of Claire (Rondeau) Neveu. Mr. Neveu was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Albert and Gloriana (Bruneau) Neveu. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and was employed for many years at Allied Container as an assembler. He was a member of the Cercle Laurier. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Paul Neveu of Coventry, and two daughters; Laurie Blanchard of Pascoag, and Lynn Benevides of Bristol, six grandchildren and two sisters; Gertrude Sitnik of VT and Violet Neveu of Woonsocket. He was also the brother of the late Roland Neveu.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St, Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd, Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday 4-7 PM.
