Obituary

CANADA – Marie-Anna (Theberge) Remillard, 83, of Canada, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. She was born in Saint Raphael, P.Q., Canada on February 16, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Candide (Pepin) Theberge. She came to the United States in 1955 with her husband and two daughters. They lived in Springfield before moving to Chicopee in 1973. Following her husband Raphael’s passing in 1987, she returned to Canada in 1991. She was last employed as an inspector at the Buxton Company in Agawam. Marie was a member of the Golden Age Club in Canada and during her leisure time she enjoyed bowling and was always ready for a good game of cards with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Raphael Remillard, and they were blessed with over 38 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving daughters, Doris Fillion of Chicopee and Ginette Poirier of Agawam; her five cherished grandchildren, Michelle Fillion, Rene Fillion, Tammy Davis and her husband, Michael, Eric Poirier and his wife, Amanda, and Melissa Poirier and her companion, Damien; and her cherished great-grandson, Ethan Poirier. She also leaves her companion, Norbert Lemay; her brothers, Marcel and Jean-Paul of Canada, Raymond of Chicopee, and Claude of Ludlow; her sister, Rachel Pinard of Canada; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her loving son-in-law, Claude Poirier and her dear brothers and sister, Maurice, Gerard, Jean-Paul and Rolande Theberge. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning, June 29, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, 292 Hampden Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Baystate Medical Center Children’s Miracle Network, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01199.
