New Bedford – Darline Faria, of Dartmouth, age 54, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Carlton Faria of Dartmouth with whom she shared 34 years of marriage. She was born in Berlin, NH, a daughter of the late Pauline (Gendron) and the late Roland Lozeau. She moved to this area in 1980. Mrs. Faria was a graduate of Gorham High School in Gorham, NH Class of 1976. Darline loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the outdoors, reading, concerts and country music.
Her survivors include her husband, Carlton; 2 loving children: Melissa Sakellaropoulos and her husband Nicko of New Bedford and Meagan Santos and her husband Jacob of Dartmouth; 4 grandchildren: Hannah, Nikolaos, Loukas and Madilynn; 5 siblings: Ronald Lozeau, Lorraine Gagnon, Ernest Lozeau, Mary Ann Lozeau and Roger Lozeau all of New Hampshire and her step father Francis Phair of New Hampshire.
Mrs. Faria’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Darline’s funeral will be Saturday, June 29 at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth, beginning at 8:45 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M. Cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Friday from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
