Obituary

Sgt. 1/C Frederick T. Nixon, US Army (Ret.), 75, of Derry, NH, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. Mr. Nixon was born in Winchester, MA on August 13, 1928, a son of the late Warren and Martha (Delorey) Nixon. He was a resident of Derry since 1964, formerly living in Medford, MA and Winchester, MA. He was a US Army veteran serving during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the Army in 1966 after serving 20 years. Mr. Nixon was a member of the Aberjona Post of the VFW in Winchester, MA, the American Legion Post #9 in Derry and a lifetime member of the Halcyon Club in Derry. He was employed by Blue Line Express in Nashua, NH for many years, more recently employed for Flight Line, Inc. of Salem, NH.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Nixon of Derry, two daughters, Cynthia Nixon Welch of Belmont, NH, Lisa Nixon of Liberal, KS, two sons, Frederick T. "Jay" Nixon of Hampstead, NH, Richard Nixon of Cambry, OR, one stepdaughter, Martha Joyce of Londonderry, NH, five grandchildren, three sisters, Theresa Queen of Woburn, MA, Susan Elliott of Portsmouth, NH, Pauline Cooke of Lowell, MA, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Garvey of Woburn, MA and Margaret Barrow of Winchester, MA.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 6th at 11:00am in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Rt. 3, Boscawen, NH. Friends may call on Thursday from 6 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry.
