Norma R. Edmonson

Norma R. (Shinkle) Edmonson, 88, lifetime Anderson resident, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Rawlins House in Pendleton, following an extended illness.
She was born on September 20, 1924 in Anderson, the daughter of Alvin C. and Laura (Stilley) Shinkle. She was a 1942 graduate of Anderson High School. She and her husband, Robert Edmonson, who preceded her in death, owned and operated Edmonson Carpet Cleaners in Anderson from 1956- 1974. She later worked part time as a greeter for Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service. She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Slate of Gulfport, Florida, and her son, Robert P. Edmonson also of Anderson. 2 Grandchildren: Ryan (wife Misty) Clendenen of Anderson and Kelly Jo (husband Shane) Kimmerling of Anderson . 5 Great grandchildren: Ashton, Brayden, Kelsey, Tommy and Molly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and 3 brothers, Earl, James, and Clarence Shinkle.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 10 AM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Steve Gettinger. Entombment will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Madison County Humane Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
