Arthur "Artie" E. Lavoie, 68 of Medford, formerly of Somerville, died peacefully at his home Saturday, June 22 surrounded by family.
Raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Frederick E. and Martha A. (Quinlan) Lavoie. Artie served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crises and Vietnam Era and later worked as a salesman for many years. A Medford resident for 10 years, he enjoyed Elvis music and had many friends but was especially devoted to his grandchildren.
The beloved husband of Joyce (Garten), he was a devoted father to Tracy Beers and her husband Robert of Peabody, and Donald Lavoie and his wife Catherine of Billerica, and loving grandfather of Evan, Justin and Ryan. He also leaves many brothers and sisters.
Visiting hours Tuesday, June 25 from 4 through 8pm at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
