Obituary

Victor J. Robitaille, 86 , of Candlewood Drive, Greenville, died Saturday unexpectedly and peacefully in his home. He was the husband of the late Dorothy M. (Brennan) Robitaille. They had been married for 57 years before she passed away in January, 2007.

Born in Norwich, Connecticut, a son of the late Alfred and Yvonne (Coutu) Robitaille. He had lived in Greenville since 1968 previously living in Taftville, CT. Mr. Robitaille was the Chief Financial Officer for the Phalo Corporation before retiring.

He was a WWII Army Veteran having served in Europe and had attended the Nuremburg Trials during his tour. Victor was a lifetime member and Double Diamond Melvin Jones Fellow of the Smithfield Lions Club. He was a communicant of St. Philip Church in Greenville.

He is survived by his sons, Thomas V. Robitaille and his wife Geri of Smithfield, Ernest J. Robitaille and his wife Barbara of Shrewsbury, MA, John P. Robitaille and his wife April of Bloomfield, CT. He was the grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of 9. He was the loving father of the late Anne L. Robitaille-Walker and brother of the late Norman and Maurice Robitaille.


His funeral will be held Thursday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. A Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Burial in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Visitation Wednesday 4-7pm.
