Obituary



George A. Thibodeau, 76, of Brockton passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Kindred Hospital after a battle with cancer. He was the husband of 47 years of Beverly (Campbell) Thibodeau. He was born in Brockton on May 21, 1937, son of the late Napoleon and Rita (Cote) Thibodeau. George was raised and educated in Whitman, attended LaSalette Seminary and was a graduate of Northeastern University. He was an avid golfer, was a member at White Pines Golf Club and loved singing in the choir at Holy Ghost Church.

In addition to his wife, George is survived by his son Peter Thibodeau and his wife Monique of Wake Forest, NC; his daughter Kathryn Thibodeau of Brockton and was predeceased by his son Daniel. He was the grandfather of Delaney and Mary Thibodeau of Wake Forest, NC. George was the brother of Shirley Reinhart of Flourtown, PA; Donald Thibodeau and his wife Mary of East Bridgewater, and Arlene Tavares and her husband George of Hanover, PA. He is also survived by his aunt, Claire Watts of Easton; many nieces and nephews, and his beloved grand dog Daisy Mae. George was the brother-in-law of Joseph and Elaine Melisi of Whitman, David and Mary Campbell of Whitman, Richard Campbell of FL, Robert and Alice Campbell of FL and Terrance and Gail Quinn of Halifax.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday June 24, 2013 from 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8am for a Funeral Mass in Holy Ghost Church, 510 Washington Street, Whitman, at 9am. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, Whitman. If you wish, donations in George’s name may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 510 Washington Street, Whitman, MA 02382.
