Mabel Elizabeth "Skip" (Rickel) Jones, 91 of Anderson, died June 19, 2013 at Morrison Woods Health Campus in Muncie, IN following a three month illness.
She was born January 14, 1922 in Greensburg, IN to Kelsie and Katherine (Silvius) Rickel.
She was school secretary at Anderson Community Schools at Central Avenue and Park Manor.
She worked for Indiana Bell during WW II. She was church organist for Otterbein United Methodist Church and Anderson Evangelical Church and for Rozelle Funeral Home.
She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed her "Forever Friends" group, reading and music.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Willard Jones of Anderson whom she married on Nov. 3, 1951 in Madison County; two daughters & sons-in-law Valerie (Herb) Anderson of Anderson, IN; Melanie (Bill) Krieger of Surprise, AZ; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Jones of Frankton; eight grandchildren, Mara (Zachary) Bowers of Scottsdale, AZ; Jessica (Brent) Hodges of Buckeye, AZ; Nathan Krieger of Surprize, AZ; Jason Krieger of Alexandria; Kristen (Derek) Rucker of Avondale, AZ; Traci Anderson of Seattle, WA; Nicholas Anderson and Angela Jones both of Anderson, IN; five great-grandchildren, Mason Hodges, Cash Hodges, Marli Hodges, Grant Hodges and Oliver Bowers; two step-grandchildren, Shawn (Miok) Ray and Jamie (Patrick) Lockwitz all of Florida; four step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gregory Jones; brothers, Floyd Shoults; Glen Shoults, Everett Shoults; Cecil Shoults, Virgil Shoults; sisters, Velma Rose, Vera Foland and Georgia Craig.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Monday June 24 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Gary Cable of First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, June 23 from 2-5 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
