Obituary

Augusta, GA – Mr. Fielden (Bud) Alford Jackson, Sr., beloved husband of 44 years to Mrs. Barbara Herin Jackson, entered into rest Wednesday June 19, 2013.
Funeral services will be held on Monday June 24, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Platt’s Belair Rd. Chapel with Rev. Eddie West officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
Additional survivors include one son, Buddy Jackson; one daughter, Michelle (Tony) Jackson Horne; one brother, Miles (Judy) Daley Jackson; mother in law, Emily Herin (the late William P. Herin); three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Jackson, Jackson Guy Horne and Emily Ann Horne; sister in law, Elizabeth Cox (Sid) and brother in law, Bill Herin (Ellen); as well as many nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
Mr. Jackson was born in Eatonton, GA. and was the son of the late Clarence A. Smith and Miles Herrington. Bud graduated from Richmond Academy in 1966. He attended Brewton Parker College and Augusta State University. He served in the Army Reserves for six years. Bud worked at Herin Transfer with family for twelve years and retired from International Uniform after working as a salesman for many years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and lived a Christian life.
Bud was a true family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, family and friends. He loved his special times with his three grandchildren. Bud enjoyed playing golf and coaching soccer for eleven years at the YMCA.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring nurses at Doctors Hospital and Kentwood Nursing Home. They took such loving care of Bud during his illness.
Active pallbearers will be Paul Herin, Jordan Herin, C.L. Broome, Bradley Belk, Miles Carroll, Mark Bryngelson, Brian McClain and Richie Andrews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
