Peter A. Aledda, Sr. age 88 of Canton passed away June 19th at the Hellenic Nursing Home. Born in Brockton, he was raised in Boston and attended Boston English High School. He received a Bachelor’s and a Master’s in Education from Boston University and was an Air Force Veteran of WW II and the Korean War. He began his teaching career in the Attleboro Schools and then went on to teach 7th and 8th grade for 33 years before retiring as the head of the English Department at Dedham Junior High School. He has lived in Canton for over 50 years and previously lived in Chestnut Hill. He was a former member of the Canton Son’s of Italy and previously played the accordion with a musical trio that performed at weddings and various other functions. Beloved husband of Anne A. (Annese). Father of Mark P. Aledda & his wife Martha of FL, Linda A. Eardley and her husband Arnold of Canton, Peter R. Aledda of Mashpee, Joanne M. Robbins and her husband Mark of Millis and Susan E. Fuller and her husband Paul of Walpole. Also survived by 11 grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Saturday morning at 10.
