Obituary

Sandra J. (McArthur) Haught, 74, of Manchester passed away Monday evening, June 17, 2013 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Sandy was born in Rumford ME on October 2, 1938 to the late Ernest and Julia (Jonaitis) McArthur. She has been a resident of NH since 1973, living in Londonderry for 23 years and in Manchester for the past 17 years.
Sandy received an Associates degree from Rivier College, Nashua, NH and worked at BAE Systems, Inc. (formerly Sanders Associates, Inc.) for nearly three decades beginning in October 1973. She served the company in a wide range of secretarial and executive assistant roles over the years working in nearly every BAE business and facility in NH during her career. She retired in 2001. Her co-workers and customers remember Sandy as a very capable and supportive colleague who was respected and loved for her professionalism, great sense of humor and kind and caring spirit.
Sandy was very active and worked out with her many friends at the Manchester YMCA nearly every day. She loved sports and was an avid Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins fan who stayed current on the Boston sports scene.
Sandy was taken from us all too young and too suddenly. She will be dearly missed by her loving companion of many years, Norman Morais of Manchester and by her children Deborah A. Donovan, her husband Donald of Litchfield, NH and their children, Erin, Timothy, Meghan and Patrick Donovan; Michael A. Haught, his wife Verona of Chester, NH and their children, Liam and Rory Haught; Kelly A. Leal, her husband Richard of Kyle, TX and their children, Shelby Jude, Richard and Kyle Leal. She is also survived by her two siblings, James McArthur, his wife Georgianna of Poland Springs, ME and Christine Sassi, her husband Keith of Palm Harbor, FL. She will be missed by her nephews in the McArthur and Sassi families and her 7 “adopted” grandchildren in the Morais and Wingreen families.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester, NH. Burial will at the convenience of the family.
Sandy spent her life and business career concerned about the well being of our country’s servicemen and women. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
