David N. Harris, Sr., 83, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on June 17, 2013 following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Helen (Jeremsek) Harris.
Born on April 7, 1930 in Danvers, he was the son of the late Walter and Meriel (Miller) Harris. David was a lifelong resident of Danvers and a graduate from Holten High School. He served with the National Guard. David had been employed with Osram Sylvania for many years as a equipment specialist. He was also a member of the former Calvary Episcopal Church in Danvers. David was a generous and loving father and grandfather and was able to fix anything.
He is survived by his three children and their spouses, David and Kathleen Harris, Jr. of Danvers, Heather and Kevin Casey of Haverhill and Jennifer and Bill Gilligan of Beverly, seven grandchildren, Ashley and Nicole Harris and Joseph Williams, Erin and Rachel Casey and Patrick Mackenzie and Trevor Gilligan and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by all his siblings, Edgar, Bill and Warren Harris and Eleanor Teal.
His Funeral Service will be held graveside in Walnut Grove Cemetery at 10AM on Saturday June 22, 2013. Visiting hours are Wed. from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in David’s name to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
