Thomas J. Hildreth of Reading passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at his home. He was 75 years of age.
Born in Worcester, Thomas was the son of the late Clifford C. Hildreth and Windred (Connaire) Hildreth. He was a lifelong resident of Reading. Thomas was a loving and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all.
Thomas was a dedicated Electrician for Gillette Co. for many years. After retiring, Thomas enjoyed playing golf. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Thomas was a C.C.D. teacher at Saint Athanasius Parish in Reading. Thomas was a Past Grand Knight of the Reading Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and the Disabled Veterans Association.
Thomas was the beloved husband of Dorothy J. (Doucette) Hildreth, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage on May 13, 2004. He was the devoted father of Thomas P. Hildreth and his wife Marian of Wakefield, Joseph M. Hildreth and his wife Robin of Burlington, Judith A. Hildreth, John W. Hildreth and his wife Judy, all of Reading, Carol T. Hildreth of Woburn, Timothy J. Hildreth and his wife Darcy of Reading. Thomas was the cherished grandfather of Cheri, Stephanie, John, Jennifer, Emily, Steven, Brendon and Sarah and the loving great grandfather of Evan. He was the dear brother of Brendan, Matthew, John and Mary Rita Hildreth.
Funeral from the Joseph Doherty Funeral Home 11 Linden St. READING Saturday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Athanasius Church 300 Haverhill St. Reading at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours Friday 4-8pm. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot located behind Atlantic Supermarket on Haven St. Interment Wood End Cemetery, Reading.
