Obituary

Mrs. Sharon Marie (Codi) Turcotte, a 23 year resident of Somerville and formerly of Medford, died at her home on Tuesday morning, June 11, 2013 after battling cancer for eight years. She was 56 years old. Mrs. Turcotte was the beloved wife of Paul B. Turcotte.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 23, 1957, she was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Pauline M. (McGurk) Codi. She was an RN; a Clinical Educator and Wound Specialist for Hallmark Health. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1983 and here Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in 2011. She was a Certified Would Specialist, a Fellow of the American College of Certified Wound Specialists, Nursing Professional Development Specialist, Chair of the Wound Prevention and Management Committee and Co-Chair of the Nursing Research Council. She was a member of the National Nursing Staff Development Organization, North East Organization of Nurse Educators, and the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care.
Sharon was awarded the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses in 2011 and The Hallmark Health Partners in Care Award in 2013 She created the C.O.D.I.I. Method (Comprehensive Online Diagnosis for Immediate Intervention) to insure that no time would be lost in diagnosing and treating severe and chronic wounds.
She was passionate about people and teaching. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, Caribbean vacations and spending time with her family and friends, especially her husband, Paul who she met in 1986 and married in 1990. She always brought a smile to everyone she touched and loved her work as well as all of those she worked with; a truly pure, loving and beautiful soul.

Beside her beloved husband, she will be very sorely missed by her loving brothers and sister; Brian G. Codi and William N. Codi, both of Medford and Joseph and his wife Kristine Codi of Quincy and Joanne M. Codi of Las Vegas, nieces and nephew; Jeanine Codi-Dirienzo of Winthrop, Kayla S. Codi of Medford, Emerald Glen of Springfield and John Turcotte of Agawam, Rebekah Baharestan of San Rafael CA; sisters-in-law; Barbara Weene, June Turcotte and Joanne Turcotte, all of Northampton, Theresa Glen of Springfield and Liese Turcotte of Leverette. Next to her husband no one misses her more than Mr. Snipps, their Siamese cat.
