Blanche (Krawiec) Fortuna, age 95 of Andover died peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Born, raised and educated in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Koluta) Krawiec.
She worked in the Pacific Mills and Meadowbrook Laundry and retired from Western Electric/Lucent Technologies in North Andover.
After retirement, she enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening and her pets. She would take strays and shelter animals.
She especially enjoyed her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece June Lilley and her family and grandchildren.
She was very active in the Polish National Catholic Church and was a member of the White Eagles.
She is survived by her sons; Edward Fortuna and his wife Dorothy of Andover and Raymond Fortuna and his wife Anne of Kennebunk, Maine, daughters; Lois Jette and her husband Roger of Atkinson, New Hampshire and Pamela Richardson of Andover, grandchildren; Tye and Andrew Fortuna of Montana, Denise Preble of Virginia and Edward Fortuna of Haverhill, great-grandchildren; Ember, Logan, Kason and Madden Fortuna of Montana, Jason Preble of Virginia and Evan Fortuna of Haverhill. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to send many thanks to the wonderful care she received from Sutton Hill Nursing Center, the second floor team and Life Choice Hospice Caregivers.
