Verlon Gosser,87,passed away on June 14,2013 at the Norton Hosparus Inpatient Unit. He was the owner and operator of Allpest Chemical Company,operating in four Kentucky cities. He loved his country and community, demonstrated by his active involvement: he served in the 2nd Marine Division,WWII, Asiatic Theater, he was a past Potentate of Kosair Shrine Temple, a member of the Provost unit, a former board member of Kosair Charities,charter member, Paul Harris fellow, and past president of South Louisville Rotary club, charter member and past president of the Sertoma Club, a member of Louisville #400 Masonic Lodge, Valley of Louisville Scottish Rite (33 degree), charter member and past president of the Kentucky Pest Control Association, volunteer Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department, Selective Service Draft Board and past president of the Cloverleaf Neighborhood Association and a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Bessie Gosser; brothers, Oscar, Clyde, Everett, and Billy Gosser; sisters Lulabelle Jones and Janice Sheffield. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Margaret(Smith) Gosser; his brother, Howard Gosser, his daugthers, Glenda and Judy (Scott) and twin sons, Johnny (Denise) and Donnie (Kathy). He had 10 grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Patrick, Sarah, Joey, Shaun, Amanda, Daniel, Thomas, and Lillee, 5 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday June 18,2013 at noon at Cloverleaf Baptist Church,4401 Manslick Road with burial in Bethany cemetery. Visitation will be at The Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway , Monday June 17,2013 from Noon till 8:00pm and Tuesday after 10:00am at the church.
