Obituary

WILBRAHAM – Lorraine B. (Grondin) Lively, 77, of Wilbraham was Called Safely Home on Saturday, June 15, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family who were her devoted caregivers. She was born in Holyoke on March 1, 1936, a beloved daughter of the late Louis and Blanche (Cantin) Grondin. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from the former Rosary High School and lived in the city during her early years. She later moved to the Chicopee Falls section of Chicopee and then to Monson before moving to Wilbraham on December 12, 1972. She was last employed as a receptionist for 20 years at the Valley Dental Office in Springfield and retired around 2001. During her younger years, she played the fife for the Drum and Bugle Corps at Immaculate Conception Church in Holyoke. She was a dedicated homemaker who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her loving husband and best friend, Arnold A. Lively. They were married on May 30, 1959 at Immaculate Conception Church in Holyoke and just celebrated 54 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving children, Kathleen L. Keohen and her husband, Timothy Vern Keohen, of Fallbrook, CA, Michael R. Lively and his fiancée, Lisa LaBrie, of Chicopee, Ann M. Gentile and her husband, Joseph, of Springfield, Patricia L. LaFountain and her husband, Micheal, of Ware and Arlene R. Piela and her husband, Gene, of Chicopee; her 10 cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Nicholas, Brian and Jason Lively, Sarah, Anthony and Lydia Gentile, Jessica and Ian LaFountain, and Alora and Courtney Piela; her dear sister, Lucille Barlow and her husband, Leon, of Chicopee; her dear brother-in-law, Daniel Hottle of Richmond, VA; her dear sister-in-law of the Lively family, Marie Giroux of South Hadley; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her dear sister, Jacqueline Hottle. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, June 21, 2013, beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint Cecilia Church, 42 Main Street, Wilbraham, MA 01095. Her Committal Service will follow the Mass at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
