Ann M. (Solomita) Munro, age 81, of Kingston, formerly of Brockton, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at her home, surrounded by family. She was the wife of John A. Munro. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Celidonio) Solomita. Ann was a graduate of St. Patrick’s School and attended Bentley College. She had been employed as a bookkeeper at Liberty Baking Company and also was involved with the music ministry in the Brockton churches. She began her career at the age of 15 as an organist and soloist at St. Colman Church, was a member of the St. Margaret Choir and soloist at St. Patrick Church. Ann was currently a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Kingston. A person who welcomed everyone into her home, Ann also enjoyed singing, cooking and canning, gardening, birds, nature, travel and cruises.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Susan Adams and her husband Stephen of Middleboro, Paul Munro and his wife Linda of Marshfield, Diane Visser and her husband Thomas of Bridgewater and Stephen Munro of Derby CT; nine grandchildren, Shannon Thomas and her husband Alex, Ryan Adams, Ellen and Lauren Visser, Andrea, Christopher, Jonathan, Zachary and Maxmillian Munro; five sisters Teresa Savignano of Middleboro, Catherine Carnabuci and her husband Joseph of South Easton, Mary Solomita of West Yarmouth, Marguerite Stevens of Stoughton, Martha Gentry and her husband Edward of Hingham; daughter in law Denise Munro of Kingston and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Thomas Munro.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 4-8pm. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home Thursday at 8am for a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church 9am. Burial to follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
