Obituary

Lena (Damiani) Taylor, 82, passed away on June 14, 2013 in Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers. She was the loving wife of the late Clyde S. Taylor with whom she spent 59 years of marriage.
Born in Pawtucket, RI, on March 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Assuntina (Paoli) Damiani. Lena was raised and educated in Pawtucket and graduated from Pawtucket East High School in 1949. She and her husband moved to the Fitchburg area, where they raised their children. She was very active in her parish St. Bernard’s Church in Fitchburg. Lena was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and being her husband’s navigator. Lena had been employed with Standard Pyroxoloid and Avery Dennison, both plastic manufactures for over 25 years. For the past few years Lena had resided in the North Shore area and most recently in Twin Oaks Nursing Home. She was very active in the groups at the nursing home and especially enjoyed their prayer group.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Donna and John Kymalainen of Danvers, Debra Taylor and Thomas Walsh of Lincoln and Michael and Karen Taylor of FL, her siblings, Robert Damiami of Seekonk, Josephine Lama, Pauline Dulieu and Carol Dick, all of RI and her grandchildren, Alyssa and Erik Kymalainen. She was predeceased by her sister Doris Proulx.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Monday from 5-8pm at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Lena’s name to the Twin Oaks Nursing Home Activity Fund, 63 Locust St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
