WALKER, MARY ELIZABETH (PALMER), 65, passed away in Hazard, KY, Monday, June 10, 2013 along with her beloved dog, Stewie.
Born in Benham, KY, the daughter of Charles Palmer and Zelma Maxwell Palmer, she retired a 5th grade teacher from Trunnell Elementary.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Robert Powell Walker Jr. and her son, Robert Nicholas Walker.
She is survived by her best friend and daughter, Kristin Walker Collins (Jonathan) and Grandpawpup, Haywood. She was a member of MENSA International and leaves behind her Tuesday night trivia group as well as many close family and friends.
Visitation will be 4-7 pm, Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., Louisville, with the funeral immediately following at 7 p.m. Graveside services will take place at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap, VA on Saturday at 2 p.m.
