Gilbert Rybicki, 78, of Worcester passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 12th in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus. Gil leaves his best friend and partner Gloria Tufenkjian. They had a special friendship and celebrated 50 years together on November 24, 2012. Gillie also leaves many friends including those at the Veteran’s clinic on Lincoln St.
He was born in Boston. He grew up in Middleton. He then went to college at Arizona State College and the University of Arizona. After college he started his career as a Safety Engineer at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company of Boston. He transferred to Worcester and worked for various companies as a Safety Engineer retiring in 1985 from Lloyd’s of London.
Gilbert was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War. Gloria would like to thank those lovely ladies who he loved to see at the Veteran’s Clinic. If Gil was around, people were either laughing or smiling. He enjoyed bringing a smile to your face. He had a great sense of humor and a wonderful personality.
There are no calling hours. Gil requested to be cremated and funeral services will be private. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
